Sofia Heartney

I am currently a fourth year at the University of Virginia, where I am double majoring in Political & Social Thought and English, with a concentration in Modern and Global Studies. I am, first and foremost, a writer. Last summer, I interned with the International Center for Journalists as a Dow Jones News Fund Digital Media intern.

I am primarily interested in thinking about the intersections between culture, politics, and society, and often frame my thinking through the theoretical. I am the Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Review of Politics (a political op-ed magazine), a Prose Editor for the Virginia Literary Review, and I have freelanced for various other publications.
