About Me

I am currently a rising fourth year at the University of Virginia, where I am double majoring in Political and Social Thought and English, with a concentration in Modern and Global Studies. My perspective has been greatly shaped by growing up in Central America, Asia, and Europe. This summer, I am a Dow Jones News Fund Digital Media Intern at the International Center for Journalists.

My interests lie at the heart of blending theory, politics, and culture. I believe that writing is vital in helping us better understand society and all of the nuances that are a part of it. In that vein, I have experience writing everything from local news, to op-eds, to long-form essays. I am especially interested in writing more creative non-fiction and heavily researched pieces.

I am currently involved with several publications. I serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Review of Politics (VROP), a non-partisan political magazine that primarily publishes student op-eds. I previously worked as a Staff Writer, Junior, and Senior Editor for VROP. Additionally, I am a Prose Editor for the Virginia Literary Review, reading and selecting students' works from across Virginia colleges. I also occasionally freelance for publications such as the C-VILLE Weekly.

I have also been involved with politics and the non-profit sphere. I have held internships with the development of education policy, interning with EnseñaPeru, a Peruvian organization, and my local school district. I am also involved with several political groups, such as serving on the Student Advisory Council of the UVA Karsh Institute of Democracy and working on various political campaigns. Additionally, I volunteer as an ESL teacher for UVA facilities workers and graduate students. In my free time, I enjoy reading literary fiction, cooking vegetarian food, and watching sitcoms.
